How much does it cost to install halogen lights?
I have traditional bulb ceilng lights wholse through my house. I want to replace it with halogen lights.
I got the quotation of £70 per light to install.
Do you think it's a fair quotation? If not, how much should I look at?
In order to cover 3x10m through lounge how much would it cost?

It's 69 for the job, 1 for the light.
Better take LED lights, anyway. They are the cheapest because they take much less electric bill.
My wife and I stopped buying stanard light bulbs. Halogens are about $5 a bulb but last about 10 times longer.
Halogens give off a lot of heat, something to think about.

£70 a light seems very expensive ... depends, is he just going to replace the lights that are already there, or is he going to install new cable, if its the later it still seems expensive.

Why not get 3 quotes .. you should always do that, for all jobs.
I live in London, so bear that in mind for price comparisons.

My electrician quoted £50 per light for each light, but only if there were a certain amount. ie if he were just doing 4, £200 barely covers the call out, unless they're local.

as per the other answers, get a few quotes and ask how much it will be per light if you ask for more lights to be done (eg 10 lights - £70 per light, 20 lights = £50 per light etc)
That is too much, I did mine for 1/2 that by going on line to B&Qs
and they are beautiful. they are no more difficult to install than ordinary lights.
